Praise the Lord, we made it through the flood & Camp REJO!CE Suwannee River has reopened!

(Orphaned wood duck)

(Florida scarlet snake)

(Skink)

(A pickerel, a non-native to Florida species of fish)

(??)

(brown lizard)

We are so thankful to have safely made it through our first flood while living on the property - thank You God! At first it was a little stressful watching the river gradually rise closer and closer to our bus but through LOTS of prayer and reading of the Holy Sciptures, we were put at peace.

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. -Matthew 6:34

It ended up being a surprisingly beautiful experience! We were completely surrounded by water so therefore, the wildlife was surrounded as well. All kinds of critters were forced to draw closer and closer to us. It was like waking up every day in a nature documentary!

In order for us to leave to go into town, we had to hike through thigh-high rapids to reach our vehicle that was parked 25 minutes away on dry ground. We often said, "It's like living in the Amazon rain-forest"! So we pretty much lived off-grid and as self-sustainable as we  possibly could for almost a month. We are grateful that the Lord gave us the opportunity to grow stronger in our independence from the world and lean on Him completely.

With all of this being said, Camp REJO!CE Suwannee River is officially back open! We have a spot open for a sleeper van, pop-up camper, teardrop, car or truck. Also, a few spots are available for primitive tent camping. Booking is available online through Hipcamp. If you are not able to access this platform, feel free to message us.

God bless you,
Michael & April
