Satan: A Real Warning for True Christians - Bible Teaching #11
Hello everyone, I hope all is going well today. This topic has been hijacked by Satan in many "Christian" circles. Lets dive in and uncover the truth about what the Bible says about Satan. Lets uncover the lies many "Christian" teachers are saying.
Before we read as always, pray, asking for wisdom and discernment concerning what we are about to uncover.
Just using a NKJV Reference Bible, not meant to be an exhaustive study. Just a sobering warning to the Church.
First thing, who is Satan?
Revelation 20:2 calls him, the dragon, that serpent of old, the Devil and Satan. That serpent of old refers to that famous serpent that tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, causing the fall of all mankind, in Genesis chapter 3.
Following that we have Ezekiel 28:11-19 talking about a being that was in Eden, who was THE anointed cherub who covers, (a cherub is an angel, making him Gods top angel), he was perfect in every way, (only one other being was called perfect in the Bible, that was Jesus). Then we get to the reason why he fell, pride. It says in verse 17, "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor..." This is also found in a parallel passage, Isaiah 14:12-21. Notice that once again pride, he exalted himself and wanted to become like God. Same thing was told to Eve and it is the same religion plaguing most of this sinful world. Everyone thinks they are part of or can become God. A self exhaulting mindset that began with Satan in heaven, continued to Adam and Eve, and is still taught in almost every religion of the world.
On a side note, read Ezekiel 28:11-19, closely, and really feel the sadness in Gods heart from his top angel rebelling against Him. I can really feel a brokenness in the wording of the passage. It is sad but it beautifully shows the heart of God.
Satan is called the father of lies, no lie existed before Satan created lying, John 8:44. So yes, contrary to popular belief, Satan can create. Thus we have the law of Satan, "Do what thou wilt is the whole of the law". A law teaching disobedience to God. Being the first to disobey, he created disobedience, and like a cancer it has spread through much of creation. So to those who say "God gave us doctors and created medication". Keep this in mind and read my article that I wrote, inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, on medication to see what a marvelous snare and counterfeit Satan created, the world of medication. Link listed below.

Going on the medication counterfeit we are told in 2 Corinthians 11:14-15 that Satan masquerades as an angel of light and so do his ministers. So not everything that seems good is good, a good lie has some truth to it. He won't come to you with horns and and a pitchfork but with the face of Jesus Himself. That is why it is said, discernment is not knowing right from wrong but knowing what's right from what's almost right. 9 truths and 1 lie is still a lie. If something is 90% true it is still a lie, with Satan being the father of lies, John 8:44, we need to be on the lookout for his imprint on everything we partake in. For no lie is from the Father(God).
Now knowing these attributes, it should come as no surprise that Satan is called the god of this age in 2 Corinthians 4:4. Look around you at the web of lies and selfish disobedience in our world. It is not God's world yet, not until the 2nd coming of Christ.
Now knowing all of this, now we come to the unsettling parts.
Commonly misinterpreted and misquoted by mindless "Christians" not reading for themselves. The book of Job. In Job 1:7-8 we see that Satan did not have to ask Gods permission for anything. He was "...going to and fro on the earth, and from walking back and forth on it." Basically just doing whatever he wanted on his earth being the god of this age. Satan did not ask God for permission to attack Job, on the contrary God actually suggested Job to Satan to test Job. For it says in verse 8, "Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?" That should make for an interesting discussion with your fellow "Christians". So no, Satan does not have to ask God before he tempts or attacks Gods people and Gods people are not exempt from attacks from the Devil, even Jesus Himself was attacked and tempted by Satan, what makes you so special?
This brings me to my next point. The Bible never tells us we have unhindered power over him or that Satan is powerless. On the contrary the Bible teaches us to beware of the Devil, describing Satan as a prowling lion, 1 Peter 5:8. It teaches us not to give place to the Devil, Ephesians 4:27. These are letters written to believers, read the introductions to find out who they are written to. Did you know Satan prevented the Apostle Paul from coming to Thessalonica? You can find that in 1 Thessalonians 2:18. So yes the Devil is a real threat, we believers are his enemies, we have entered into a Spiritual war whether we like it or not.
To you people out there who say horrible things degrading Satan, do you not know that even the angels, who are mightier than us, do not do such things? You can find that in Jude 8-10 and 2 Peter 2:10-11. Do not downplay Satans power or you will cause people to be unaware and become his victims.
Satan can enter people and implant thoughts into our hearts, a great example of this is, Judas Iscariot, in the Gospel of John. In John 13:2, we see that the Devil put it into Judas heart to betray Jesus. We see in John 13:27 that Satan literally entered Judas to carry out the betrayal of Jesus. This is the Judas that walked with Jesus for his whole ministry, one of the 12 Apostles, who was sent out doing miracles in Jesus name. The Devil still found room to enter and persuade that man. The same can happen to you if you do not take this seriously.
What can we do about it?
Now with all this weight, we need to know how we can fight back. For Jesus said "I will not leave you orphans..." Lets look at how Jesus fought back in Matthew 4:1-11. Notice every time Satan said something, even though what Satan said was true, there was always a more correct answer from Jesus. All 3 times Jesus fought Satan with Scripture, the Word of God. All 3 responses from Jesus started off with "It is written..." Then the quote from the Word of God. The Word of God is our only offensive weapon to Satan. How do you destroy a lie? With the Truth!
Even though the Word is our only offensive weapon, we have many weapons of defense. In Ephesians 6:13-17, we have the belt of Truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel of Peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We would not be given armor if we were not expected to be attacked. Take up that armor and sharpen that s-word! If you do not know the Word of God then you can not use it! Lack of knowledge in Gods word will make you just cower back in a corner getting beaten severely by Satan, like most of americas "Christianity".
Now to conclude all of this, we have instructions from my favorite book in the Bible, the book of James.
James 4:7-10
"Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up."
May God bless you and Godspeed.
A humble servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, Michael
